Hi! Got a problem, nothing happens when i'm doing ''Browse to the setup file from ISO or DVD''
ReplyDeleteI mean, no game setup is starting when i select the ISO, what could be the problem? :/
Extract the ISO to a folder and select the setup.exe
ReplyDeleteInstalled, but won't run. Here is the log after running fm.exe, any help?

crash dumps!! any more suggestions??
ReplyDeleteI had crash dumps.
Delete1. When i haven't installed required by the game .Net v2
2. When i inappropriately installed the latest XORG edgers package.
Now i can start FM12 1 time of 10 even without using any additional shit like stress that loading my rather slow Notebook celeron 2x1.9ghz.
No mention of Steam here though. How are you bypassing the Steam requirement?
ReplyDeletei cant find the installation folder to use in the terminal. everything i try comes up with bash: /home/nicky/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/fm2012/drive_c/Program Files/SEGA/Football Manager 2012/installation: is a directory
ReplyDeletecd /home/nicky/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/fm2012/drive_c/Program\ Files/SEGA/Football\ Manager\ 2012/installation
DeleteGet the crash dump issue here too. I read somewhere else that this issue is being caused by the Berkelium.exe. No workaround yet though.
ReplyDeleteDidn't quite get it to work like the instructions shown. But you've helped me get it up and running. Sorry, I can't tell you how I did it...I forgot to take notes on what I was doing. But running stress in terminal seems to be the missing link for me. I ran the install straight from the DVD, for some reason playonlinux kept crashing
ReplyDeleteStress doesn't need to be running once the game is loaded. Stopping it once the game is loaded improves the 3D match engine performance.
ReplyDeleteWhat does it mean to 'navigate to the installation folder', I'm literally having no success with these instructions.
ReplyDeleteIn Playonlinux point fm, choose configure. Miscellaneous tab, Open Program's directory botton. And you can see where is your game :)
DeleteThen in terminal just type cd path like
cd /home/nicky/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/fm2012/drive_c/Program\ Files/SEGA/Football\ Manager\ 2012/installation
Where before space input \
Steam works if you run it in Winetricks from the terminal line, just put 'winetricks steam' terminal.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI tried it yesterday and it was working fine (although I needed to use LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/nvidia-current/libGL.so). But today it doesn't work at all. The problem seems to come from a missing openGL and the libGL.so library that is not pre-loaded anymore.
Here is the top of the log:
ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib32/libGL.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

i was having startup troubles running FM10 on linux, but the "stress" command worked a treat. cheers.
ReplyDeleteJust a question before I start. How does this install bypass connecting to steam or is that something that still needs to occur.
ReplyDeleteCheers
P
I can't get this steps right:
ReplyDelete- Open play on linux application
- Click on the FM and select configure button
- Select Install packages tab and search for directx9
- Download and install directx9
I don't have the option to install packages tab. Do I have to open 'Configure Wine' for this and then click install packages? I have tried that but after that I don't know where to search for directx9?
Thanks bro! Merged this tutorial with another one: http://francksblog.altervista.org/how-to-install-football-manager-2011-on-ubuntu-10-10/ Worked like a charm.
ReplyDeleteI have a problem. When I run the game it goes a little slow (but not on Windows, there it runs like a bullet), but it goes slooooooower when I try to play a game (even 2D). Why does it happen? Is there something I have to change?
ReplyDeleteMy Graphic card is an Intel 1754MB
Thanks
